Not the same success today……

Wow, I have gone this long without making a post?! No way! But anyways, things have been boring here at the house. I just got finished with my chicken and I thought I would address the blog readers here……

So, as you may have noticed, my review of Fallout 3 Operation Anchorage is now up at the site. I had a blast playing through OA and I can’t wait to see what else Bethesda has in store for us in the future. On other site news, traffic has been strong today, we’re almost at 1k unique visitors already, not as much as yesterday but trust me, I’m not complaining.

As for our top 5 Xbox LIVE Arcade games post, it did not see the same success that yesterday’s post did, not even being approved for N4G. So, it looks like there might be sour grapes out there about most of the readers having a problem with our post. I’m ok with that though, we’ll post what we post, 360Evolved has always been about going against the grain, I had that “montra” in mind ever since I started the site back in the AVG Gamer days…….we’re definitely not going to cater to everyone so I’m not going to worry about it.

Hey, we do have some ways on the site that you can help keep our visitor numbers strong, make sure to use the “share this” and the “twitThis” buttons on the site to help spread the word about our content. There really isn’t much more that I can share with you as to what is coming up for the site, so just make sure to keep us in your bookmarks to stay in the loop……

Ok, well I’m off to watch the rest of this movie, so I’ll talk at you later. Oh yeah, and I’ll probably play some Bruce Springsteen in Guitar Hero World Tour later tonight, make sure to check it out, the Springsteen pack is free, for a limited time…….

Well it’s almost 12 here and the day is coming to a close. And what a day it was for 360E. It looks like we’re going to go out with 2,804 unique visitors, the most since the site’s launch, as the previous record was something like 200, yeah I’m serious.

The question is however, can we go for a repeat and make this happen again, like maybe, say tomorrow? I just now got the submission from DSight, and another 5 game list will going up tomorrow, you’re just going to have to wait and see what kind of list it is……..

While I am still on the subject of site operations, I have completed Operation Anchorage on Fallout 3 and I walk away very impressed. I’ll be getting started on the review tomorrow, but is it worth your ten dollars? Absolutely!

As for other stuff, aside from my family’s dog dying, it was a pretty good day. I just watched the latest episode of The Guild on Xbox LIVE, so if you like that go check it out, it’s free! Well, as I sit here with 40 Below Summer playing I am running out of things to say so let’s put this post in the books.

Thanks to all of you for making this a record breaking day for 360Evolved, we got more traffic today in less than 24hrs than we did all month long last month. I hope all of our new visitors are finding out that we are among the top in most community sites when it comes to Xbox 360 game reviews, amount and orginazation. I hope to see you come back to the site in the future!

The 5 Xbox 360 games post blows up 360E

Hey guys, remember that little post I made this morning about the article that DSight submitted for the site? Well do I have news for you! This article has blown up in the numbers department, bringing in well over 1800 unique visitors to the site already as well as reaching 200 degrees on N4G.http://www.n4g.com/xbox360/News-266914.aspx

This post is already the most viewed post at 360E BY FAR. But not everything can be a good thing right?, it is also receiving very mixed reactions from alot of readers. Most readers are not agreeing with the post. But in the posts defense, I must say, nowhere in this post does it say that these are the top 5 exclusive 360 titles, these are simply the author’s favorite 5 titles, that’s it. So in response to all who are saying “these are all multiplats”, I say, yes we know, we never said that these are exclusives.

I also am going to say, that this post is strictly the opinion of the author and not 360Evolved, remember that……

What to look for soon from 360E…….

Heads up everyone! News has been coming in pretty steadily to 360E. I have been too busy to yet dig in to Operation Anchorage in Fallout 3, soon though, soon. As for more site operations, look for a new article from DSight, one of the new editorial writers here. It covers a few Xbox 360 games that you must play, at least once. The preparation of this article has been very easy, I did have to grab a few images but nothing big. I’ll also be submitting it to N4G and Digg, so show it some love there won’t you?!

Also, if you like gameplay footage of upcoming Xbox 360 games, you might want to check out 360E off and on today. I won’t say too much but I will say that we’ll be hitting you with multiple gameplay videos of the same game, wait and see…….

Well as for personal matters, I have to cut this short, we had a death in the family (our dog), so I need to go and plan the burial and “doggy funeral”. And then it should be off to Operation Anchorage for me, see you next post!

Fallout 3 and the RE5 demo

Well Monday is pretty much wrapped up for things here. G4 sent over a video, a long video of gameplay from THQ’s upcoming 50 Cent:Blood on the Sand, so you might want to check that out. Looks like a really arcadey shooter with a cover system intact, should be interesting at least……

As for how today was, it was pretty good, I can’t complain. Bethesda just now sent over my code for the Operation Anchorage DLC for Fallout 3, although the content doesn’t go live until tomorrow, so I will have to wait and play with it then like the rest of you. I do however, recommend you wait for the review to go live at 360E before plunking your hard earned money down on this DLC. I have Fallout 3 in the 360 now just brushing up on the game to get ready for some OA action. I guess we’re just going to have to wait and see how this turns out.

I also would like to thank Reverb, it’s a PR agency we work with for review materials from Harmonix. They have sent over some PC games from other devs that they represent for future giveaways at 360e or EvolvedGaming, this is still far off but some plans are in the works.

And yes of course, I got to dig in to the Resident Evil 5 just like the rest of you Xbox LIVE connected 360 owners out there. My question is, how did you like it? I like it alot, I do think that some of the controls will take some getting used to, they do seem to differ heavily from previous RE titles. I also really like the co-op aspect, that will definitely be the highlight of this title. I can’t wait for March 13th, I have the collectors edition preordered!

Aside from that, I didn’t do too much today, just got some gaming time in, from RE5, to Fallout 3 to Shenmue 2, ah good times……..

So, until tomorrow, have fun gaming or whatever you’ll be doing and remember, if you are undecided on the Operation Anchorage DLC, wait for my review, I plan to go through this content like a fine tooth comb and I’ll lay it all out in my review. Stay tuned……

The adventures of Monday, so far…..

Hey guys, thought I should make a post today, didn’t want to let you all think that I was going to make 5 posts yesterday and none today. So far, things have been pretty slow on the news side for the site, one of the new writers at 360E, Thy Armageddon, submitted the review on The Maw, so I quickly got some screens to add to it and got it posted right away, it required very little editing on my part, making the job of editor-in-chief rather easy! So anyways, go check out that review here.

Also, I am about to show off more of my game collector “geekdom”, My copy of Shenmue 2 for the original Xbox came in today, the 2 disc set complete with the movie (pictured below). This is simply, the best game that nobody bought, and that is really unfortunate, but the good part here is that this set only cost me 4 whole dollars, can’t beat that.

I have nothing else that I can share with you guys right now for behind the scenes of operations at 360Evolved, just rest assured that the reviews will continue to flow in, and like I said, I can’t say no more, so “stay tuned”.

I do need to get some RE5 demo playing time in, I qued it up on my console but have yet to fully download and play it yet, since I have been busy with the site and listening to the latest podcast, which by the way was one of the best yet in my opinion, a big shoutout goes to the podcasters Zac, Drew and Cory, great job to all of you! And yes, I caught you guys calling me out on the show! And this goes to Zac and Drew, I have no PS3, so I can’t join you on the Crash Commando gaming nights, that machine belongs to my older brother, I get very limited access……

Whew!, enough rambling, I’m off to play RE5, you can look for my impressions on the demo here, and you can look for NukaCola’s review on the site soon……….(and to answer the question that our podcasting team was wondering, NukaCola is female)

Monday will probably be a busy day

I had kind of a hard time deciding to where to make this post, I was about to go ahead and post this on 360E, but 360E keeps more on the side of straight news and reviews, so I am going to put this on the blog here……

I really just want to express my excitement for tomorrow. The Xbox LIVE demo of Resident Evil 5 launches tomorrow! Easily one of my most anticipated games of the year so far, we’ll all finally get to play this title tomorrow! “NukaCola”, one of the writers over at 360E will be doing the review of this demo, so look forward to that as well.

I’m hoping to get to play this demo for a while before I have to start work on the Operation Anchorage for Fallout 3 review, so, like the post title says, Monday will probably be a busy day! Also…….I am posting the trailer to Resident Evil 5 below, this is the trailer from TGS. It’s really intense and shows some nice, what are obviously, cut scenes from the game. I watch it in HD on my TV all of the time, so I wanted to post it here on the blog to get you guys even more pumped for the demo tomorrow. Well, enough talk, enjoy the trailer and definitely make sure to check out the demo when it launches!

Hey readers!, this will be a quickie, I may not have been very clear on my post about the recent changes at 360Evolved, so I would like to fix that now. 360Evolved.com is not closing down, the site is here to stay, I just meant I closed the forums down and let some staff go, that’s all. The site is not going anywhere, I have invested too much time, energy and patience in the site to close it down.

I apologize for not being clear before……

During my adventures in a local pawn shop yesterday, I stumbled upon what you see above, it was in very good shape and had all of the contents it was supposed to have, both discs, the destroyed beauty art book, etc. The discs are like new without a single scratch and there isn’t a dent to be found in the metal case. I couldn’t pass the deal up and bought it right away once the guy (who obviously knew nothing about gaming) quoted me the whopping $10 price tag. This goes to show you that you’ll never know what you’ll find in pawn shops these days………

Oh yeah, I also have a funny little story to tell you about Gamestop and how their employees (at least this one) was very wrong about a certain game. First of all, I could be what you would call a game collector, I try to get them all, at least the ones that I enjoyed. So I went in yesterday looking for Outrun 2 on the original Xbox. I asked the clerk and he went looking for it and found it! But without a case, so I had to buy just the disc, he goes on to “warn me” that this game is not playable on the Xbox 360. I just said, “oh really?, that’s ok, I’ll just play it on my original Xbox“. But I knew that this game is backwards compatible, I just really didn’t feel like arguing. So I head home and pop the game in my Xbox 360 and bang!, the game runs like a dream, just like I knew it would. This goes to show you kids, take anything a Gamestop employee tells you with a grain of salt,………..at least the Gamestop in my town.

And I must mention one other note about yesterday………the oven baked sandwiches from Domino’s RULE! I got one for the first time yesterday (chicken, bacon, ranch) and was instanty hooked! try one if you have’nt yet!
